Well I didn't really see any  place to talk about boats so here goes..

Me and my family are totally new to boating but are interested in getting involved with it.

I've been wakesurfing with my friend but didnt really get around to wakeboarding that trip so im itching to get my own boat to try it out with my family. Plus I want to get my little brother started early so he'll be far beyond me by the time he's my age.

WELL, with the economy the way it is and it being winter season, we managed to come across some appealing deals on boats.

Heres the boats we're considering at the moment:

Sea-Doo 230 WAKE (430 horsepower)
Yamaha AR230
Yamaha 212X

Yea Yea I know, jet boats are supposed to be bad for wakeboarding, but two of those boats come with ballasts and are very well equipped for the price.

One of my friends has a Centurion escalade, one has a Mastercraft X45 and another has a Yamaha AR230...I don't really see the point in my buying one of these "wakeboard" wakeboarding boats...Yeah they make a fat wake but I dont think that balances out with the price.

SO what do you guys think, Is there any desperate reason not to go with the SeaDoo or the yamaha (so far im kinda leaning towards the Seadoo boat just because it comes with so many sick standard features)
