JUST WONDERED IF ANY ONE HAS PUT A WAKE PLATE ON A OLDER SKI BOAT
(1985 SKI SUPREME) AND IF IT WORKED FOR WAKEBOARDING AND WAS WORTH $500.00 DOLLARS TO PUT 1 ON. WE USE ABOUT 750LBS OF BALLAST AND GET A GOOD WAKE BUT NEED TO FIRM IT UP WITH GOING ANY FASTER?

I hear they're good for wakeboarding (compared to nothing.. but I'd pick ballast over wedge any day of the week).  I've never wakeboarded behind a boat with one though.  I've only wakesurfed.  I actually found the wake was better for surfing with the wedge up.

PS - Your caps lock is on Wink

Thanks . but we are ballast out 350lbs in the bow and 400 in the middle or all in the left back if wakesurfing. thats why I was checking to see if with ballast and
wakeplate if it is worth it? We get a good wake but have to run a little to fast to keep it firm, and everything I've read on wake plates makes me think it will firm up the wake so we can get that extra pop for inverts.

Yeah a gate might help you.  I have only used one on a made-for-wakeboarding boat so the hull was shaped to put up a nice wake on its own.
